A recent study by Envi Sci research associate Salvi Asefi-Najafabady and professor Deborah Lawrence has been published in the journal Climate Change and covered by UVA Today. The study used models to predict future occurrence of heat stress, finding that 10s of millions of people in East Africa could face over 100 additional days of dangerous heat per year by 2090.
